Relationships make up a huge and vital part of our lives. They help us to form the social support network that is so important for our physical and mental health. But the variety of types of relationships that we have can be confusing.

This is often a matter of personal preference and is dependent upon each individual feeling valued, respected, and getting their needs met. It is also a relationship in which both people can discuss anything and everything, including those things that may seem embarrassing or taboo.
